Cheating
I just touched up an old bird photo. The bird is an Peregrine Falcon American Kestrel.
The shot was a distant one with the lens fully extended. The bird was small and blurry… until I tried a new (for me) sharpening technique in Photoshop. Here’s the new photo. Cheating?

Sorry, this is not a Peregrine Falcon… But one of the same “family”!
This is a male American Kestrel. Not an endangered bird, but one most people see and don’t notice or recognize. Still a very beautiful bird and small raptor!
BTW nice PS technique!

Thanks for the correction. My birding sense is strong, but my id knowledge is lacking. I saw the teardrop eye patches and speckled chest and assumed it was a Peregrine. I thought Kestrel’s were a bit smaller. At least I didn’t mistake it for a dove!
Also, I’m not so disappointed. There are still a few real Peregrines nesting on bridges and skyscrapers that I’ve seen here in Philly.
