Obama

Last night I waited 5 hours (3 spent on my feet, completely immobilized by a crowd of 35,000 people… I think the Bush Administration calls that a “stress position.”) to hear Obama’s stump speech and get this um… awesome 300mm shot, which I then cropped down from 12.8 to 0.6 megapixels. All in all, the 15 minutes he spoke was pretty cool. The people I waited in various lines with were all nice, but 5 hours? Damn.

The atmosphere was like a non-competitive sporting event. Next time, I gotta get a press pass.

Heh. This looks like one of those images where people profess to see the image of Jesus.

“If you hold this discarded maxipad at a 57-1/2 degree angle to an incandescent bulb on a cloudy day, between 1:15 and 1:18 PM, you can see Jesus on the clot on the right.”

Seriously, though, I was at the rally too and I think I got a very similar shot, though it was highly obscurred by one of those really bright spotlight style lamps on the stage. I ended up deleting the image there I think as I can’t find it on my camera anymore.

I’m jealous that you got to go. I was hoping to go, but I was revisited by pain so I ditched town and went to our family cabin to relax for a few days since I couldn’t do much of anything anyway. And at least my parents could take care of me there. ;) Glad to hear that someone I knew had gone and that you were pleased with his speech! I’m bummed that he didn’t win PA.

Andi: I’m bummed too but bear in mind, six weeks ago, Hillary was heading here with a 20+ point lead and the main goal of the Obama camp was to wittle that down to no more than a 10 point spread and take the wind out of her sails.

They did that and (depending on who you read, it’s actually a 9 point lead, not 10 but it gets lost in the news cycles) what you’re hearing and reading now on the outcome is framed within a specific spin angle by the Clinton camp and media pundits at large.

    Have faith.

    And hope…. :)

    Hope you feel better, too.
